Mistakes in China

Hello. I once went to this park in Lanzhou city and there is a zoo too, but I want to tell you about some mistakes I found in their English words on public signs.

 

There were monkeys in the zoo, but the sign said there were fraggles! Red Fraggle and Mokey Fraggle, although misspelled as well. Fraggles kind of remind monkeys so you can't blame those who made the sign too much :)

And then there was this sign about some animats. Are they animated mats? Who knows, but don't feed them! 

Here is a mess of a text on a ticket to the local water world. Catch them all (mistakes)!

The myth (movie review)

 This movie with Jacky Chan was kind of strange, some naive things in the film make it more like a cartoon for children than a film for adults. There were some interesting ideas but the realization wasn't good enough.

In the beginning of the film there is a fight scene where Jacky's enemy is pierced by Jacky's sword and they used CGI for it and it's terrible, they also botched up the sword position moments later.

Dance of the drunk mantis (movie review)

 This film was made on the wave of the success of the Drunken Master movie and it's quite good for this kind of a movie, The fights are interesting, the drunken master character's performance is okay, and it's a good addition to the first film. If you can, find and watch "Snake in the eagle's shadow", "Drunken master" and "Dance of the drunk mantis" in this order and you'll enjoy good kung-fu comedy's. The actual sequel to Drunken master with Jacky Chan called "The legend of Drunken master" is not that good.

Here I found some strange thing, perhaps it happened because some scenes were cut out in the final edit.

The white t-shirt on the main character is dirty, then it's clean, then it's dirty and has a hole and bloody wound which was not shown to be inflicted on him. These are all from one continuous fight scene in the film.

Never learn English from Chinese teachers

Here is another example of Chinese English teaching stupidity. They invent their own sounds and rules of English pronunciation. They claim they are right and don't listen to native speakers and don't trust dictionaries. They claim that if their teachers taught them that way then it's the indisputable truth.

They are stupid to think so. Guys, never learn English from Chinese teachers.

Can you find that underlined sound anywhere in English dictionaries? Tell me if you can.

And here are some examples of their bullshittery about pronunciation:

if a word has ST letters together - they claim it must be pronounced as ZD, e.g. STORK - ZDORK, STOP - ZDOP and so on.

if a word has SP letters together then they claim and teach that it must be pronounced as ZB, e.g. SPOON - ZBOON, SPACE - ZBACE and so on.

There are more of their own rules about English speech, now I don't remember what else.

DIY "pirate's glasses"/Сделай сам "пиратские очки"

 This is my attempt at making a pair of "pirate's glasses" which supposed to improve eyesight.

You may wear them for 30 minutes covering each of your eyes in turns, but after you've done both eyes you must have an hour break before the next usage, give your eyes rest.
